An entrepreneur at heart, Janine Carey joined Damianos Sotheby’s International Realty in September 2021 after successfully building several Bahamian businesses: a fitness company providing yoga, pilates and aerial services; a nutrition business focusing on assisting clients in achieving their health goals; a wellness retreat business offering wellness and adventure retreats; and Liquid Nutrition, a nutraceutical and functional beverage and juice bar located in Albany Resort, Nassau Bahamas.

Utilizing this combined background in business, healthcare, and wellness, Janine approaches her real estate business holistically with a keen focus on matching her clients to homes and environments that offer a sense of balance, well-being, and a healthy lifestyle, whatever that may mean for each individual. Even more valuable is Janine’s knack for truly listening to her clients’ needs enabling her to develop enduring, authentic connections. When representing her clients, Janine leverages her tenacity and expertise in sales and marketing to showcase each property, and capitalizes on her business contacts and deep community ties to connect buyers and sellers to create best case scenarios for both parties. 

Having lived in five different countries, Janine has experienced the full evolution of moving to a new country and building a new life in a variety of lifestyles and settings—from being a renter in bustling cities to living on sustainable off-the-grid eco farms—giving her a truly unique perspective on what “home” means in its many different forms. Janine values diversity and enjoys connecting with clients from a variety of cultures and backgrounds and guiding them through the logistics of moving to a new country and merging into a new culture.

In her spare time, Janine enjoys giving back to her community by dedicating her time and services to nonprofit organizations like the Bahamas National Trust, Rotary Club Bahamas and the Bahamas Humane Society. Janine’s passions include social dancing, particularly salsa and bachata, and exploring the islands of The Bahamas via kayak, hiking and paddleboarding.
